A fast paced game where the aim is to score as many runs as possible. It includes the same skills used in outdoor softball with some interesting rule variations to create a fast, action-packed game with maximum participant involvement.
Social 7s rules will apply with some alterations to suit indoors.
Here are the basics:
1. 7 a side - maximum of 7 players on the field at any one time.
2. Played inside an enclosed court - the ball is live off the walls & roof. There are no foul hits - every hit is fair and the batter and all other runners must run at least one base. If the batted ball goes into the target area at the back of the court, then a home run is scored.
3. Both teams have 2 x turns at batting and fielding. Each turn is 8 minutes. The batting team can have as many turns at bat as they can in that 8 mins regardless of any outs. Each player must bat, before a player has a second turn. The fielding team must not delay play. They must pitch the ball once the batter is ready.
